We’ve been asked when we’re going to develop a mobile app for itsyourradio, many times. And we talked about it, had started the groundwork – but then – a great partnership deal came about, and we couldn’t say no. We’ve teased this on our social media channels and many listeners have already downloaded the CyberFM app, but it’s REALLY official now.
Cryptocurrency. Blockchain. We are pretty sure you’ve heard those words before, right? CyberFM is a one of a kind radio platform. They pay their listeners in CYFM (ERC20 token), a cryptocurrency paid directly to Ethereum wallets. In their latest iOS and Android releases, you can setup your wallet and start earning CYFM instantly, right from the app. It’s something different, and when we met with the CyberFM team, we knew it was a smart decision to partner with another network that has been in business for years — and has something completely new to offer that you can’t find anywhere else. And guess what, now they offer an additional station: itsyourradio!
Our partnership will be referenced across a number of our sites as IYRxCyberFM or IYRxCYFM.
This was not the first partnership offer we’ve had recently. Since the spring of 2019, we’ve had 10 or so other networks contact us, a couple of them with the idea of buying us out, which we have no intentions on selling, as we fear selling itsyourradio would only lead to the new owners breaking the vision we’ve started, and we would never let that happen to our platform. The other networks that wanted to directly partner with us and become the “official app” for itsyourradio, they had nothing special to offer. Our personal opinion? If there was nothing special to offer, why not just build our own mobile apps instead. But, over the last few months, we’ve had talks with the entire CyberFM team about ways we can work together and build a cohesive experience for listeners, for artists, and work together as equal partners. The thing is — what CyberFM does, is different. It’s fresh. It’s new. Our teams work together well.

With our current offerings for artists and musicians with IYR Artists, our platform for show hosts with IYR Hosts, and our growing podcast archive, IYR Archive, we have a lot to offer on the web. IYR Artists offers easy music submission and profiles of all the independent artists who have submitted music for airplay on our stations, which we will gladly extend our distribution to the stations across the CyberFM network.
IYR Archive features our original shows, by our IYR Hosts such as Cinema Caroline, The Royal Ramble and Saving America, as well as shows from our “The Classics” category such as Serious Business…and not so serious and NTL Rock Radio. Soon, we will be adding a new category to the archive — IYRxCYFM, where interviews and on-demand content from CyberFM hosts & DJs will be stored alongside all our other amazing content.
With what our online platforms have to offer already, it made sense to partner with a network that has a solid mobile platform with strong engagement to further the reach of our content for both our hosts and artists, while providing the mobile app experience our listeners have been asking for. We have had a handful of partnership offers over the last year, but none of them spoke to us. We wanted to work with a network that had something truly different to offer our listeners, not just be placed in some subpar application and call it a “partnership” — and when we first started our discussion with the team at CyberFM, we knew they were the ones we wanted to work with. It would solve the issue of a mobile platform for IYR content, but it also came with a bonus for our listeners: the ability to earn the CYFM cryptocurrency (yes, getting paid to listen!) while enjoying our content.
We have proven that itsyourradio and the entire IYR Network will only continue to grow as time passes, and we plan to grow with CyberFM as our equal partner in transforming radio, and building what truly is “the future of radio” – our two teams combined make for a powerful entity and will grow our marketshare in the radio industry, giving both platforms a better chance than ever before to compete with the major players in online and mobile radio. Even though both itsyourradio and CyberFM have been around a number of years, in a sense, this is just the beginning. Over the coming months, things will grow and change exponentially across both platforms, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.
